A charming boutique hotel occupying a 15th century building in Stockholm's old town, the Lady Hamilton is dedicated to Lord Nelson's mistress and boasts three decades-worth of antique collecting. This four-floor hotel has 29 guestrooms, all of which include cable TV, minibars, and complimentary Internet connections. Individually designed, the rooms are named after regional flowers, with paintings of the blooms by Swedish artist Ingrid Svensson on each door. Swedish folklore flavours each room via antique rustic cupboards and paintings from the Dalarna region.
Guests arriving by car can take advantage of valet parking before entering a listed building which boasts the spoils of three decades of dedicated antique collecting. The hotel has its own library and guests can also browse complimentary newspapers in the striking hotel lobby. The Bistro Emma, open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, is themed round the romance between Lady Hamilton and Lord Nelson, and specialises in Scandinavian and international dishes. The immediate area of Gamla Stan, Stockholm's old town, offers beautifully preserved historical architecture alongside stylish shopping opportunities. The Royal Palace, National Museum and Nobel museum are all also within one kilometre of the hotel. Arlanda Airport is 45 kilometres away, an approximate driving time of 45 minutes.
